5 reasons the PS3 is finally a worthwhile purchase
Sony’s had a tough time convincing the public to pick up a Playstation 3 since they announced before launch that it would retail for $599. Hardware changes, price adjustments and other factors have changed the PS3’s potential value over time and buying one is finally a reasonable prospect. Here’s why:
1. Flower
Beautiful and relaxing, Flower is the rare experience that keeps me interested in gaming and the main reason I finally bought a PS3.
2. Price / Value ratio starting to make sense
Retailers are packing in quality games like Killzone2 and LittleBigPlanet, very enticing.

3. Decent games library accumulating
No-one wants to pick up a pricey console for 1 or 2 games. There’s variety of good games available now on PS3 including the quirky, artistic games for download on Playstation Network.
4. Blu-ray maturing as a media format
Amazing video / audio quality and a growing catalog of movies and TV shows, though Blu-ray discs are still a bit pricey to buy. Until prices subside, Netflix is a good way to get your Blu-ray fix for $1 more on your monthly bill.
5. 2009-2010
There are interesting games coming out on PS3 over the next 2 years. Fat Princess, Infamous and Heavy Rain, for examples:
